During our latest sponsorship we had the pleasure of working along with Norris Frederick. A native of Seattle Washington, Norris is a professional athlete with more than 12 years of experience competing at the highest levels.

Norris started his career as an athlete during his high school days. During his sophomore year, at the recommendation of his basketball coach, Norris joined the track team in order to improve his speed and jumping ability, little did he know that this move would result in him winning five state titles, a Junior Olympics gold medal and overall put him on the path to start a career as a professional athlete.

Norris would later join the University of Washington on a full track & field scholarship, and ultimately go on to become a professional athlete upon graduating from university. Norris holds an impressive list of achievements and silverware, among it: 5 Conference Championships, becoming NCAA All American a total of 11 time, be chosen as the West Region Male Athlete of the year 3 times, be lauded as the most decorated athlete in Washington State history and earning 3 Olympic Bronze Medals for Team USA as a professional.

When probed for his fondest memory, Norris had no doubt mentioning his high school days. For him being one of the youngest athletes in America to make the world championship team as a high schooler gives him a sense of achievement like nothing else. Nowadays, Norris is focused on the future. After the 2021 Olympics Norris plans on retiring and dive in full time in his new-found passion, videography.

For Norris videography provides him an outlet to express himself in ways that he is not able to do as an athlete. Through his creative work he is able to share his artistic view, create narratives and show others his authentic self. The transition from athlete to videographer has not been without its share of obstacles, having to constantly fight the label of athlete and show others his value as videographer has been a recurring topic. To creators and people pursuing their passions Norris suggest them to dream big and keep on pushing forward.
