Taipei, Taiwan – June 4th, 2021 – Two Silicon Power (SP) products have scored wins at the 2021 COMPUTEX d&i awards, highlighting the company’s firm grasp of innovation and design. The award-winning products are the 3.5” 8TB external hard drive, the Stream S07, and the Type-C portable SSD, the PC60.
About The COMPUTEX d&i Awards
Established in 1981, COMPUTEX has evolved from a regional show to the largest IT trade fair in Asia. Once per year, Taipei becomes the center of the IT sector, showcasing technological progress in combination with innovative designs. Launched for the first time in 2008, the COMPUTEX d&i awards have become an esteemed prize of the event, hosted by the prestigious iF (International Forum Design Company). The award honors products that stand out through excellent design with judgment criteria based on innovation, technical vision, functionality, social impact, craftsmanship, and aesthetics.
The Stream S07: A Cornerstone For Storage
With a design inspiration that stemmed from a Japanese Zen garden, the Stream S07 offers up to 8TB of capacity within the smallest aspect ratio in the industry. It can be placed horizontally or vertically to fit multiple spaces. The “crack” in the design, which carries the stone theme, keeps the HD running cool and lights up when processing data. On the inside, it’s equipped with a speedy USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, the ability to record TV shows and movies when connected to a compatible Smart TV, and an automatic sleep mode to save power and peace of mind.
The PC60: Your Data, Squared Away
At just 8cm in length and width and barely over 1cm height, the PC60 is one of our most portable-friendly SSDs, fitting comfortably in a hand or pocket. It features a polished frame with a unique rippled design, as well as a convenient keyhole for easy attachment to a keychain or bag. The shockproof design is backed by impressive specs: a future-proof Type-C output, speedy USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, generous 1.92TB capacity (maximum), and blazing fast read/write speeds (up to 540MB/s and 500MB/s, respectively).
