SP/ Silicon Power Received Ten Awards from Taiwan Excellence 2015 for Six Consecutive Years

2015-01-14

Taipei, Taiwan – January 14th, 2015 –SP/ Silicon Power, the world’s leading provider of memory storage solutions, today is honored to announce that SP has once again been crowned as the biggest winner of Taiwan Excellence Award 2015 for the sixth consecutive year. This year, SP was granted the most awards for its ten outstanding products, not only setting the record for the industry but also showing how perfection can be even more perfect. After winning numerous worldwide prestigious design awards in 2014 including iF Product Design Award, reddot Design Award, COMPUTEX d&i award and GOOD DESIGN AWARD, SP continues to exceed expectations and further demonstrates its strength in innovative product design by the great recognition from Taiwan Excellence Award 2015.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in 1992, Taiwan Excellence Award was established to encourage quality products made in Taiwan and has now become one of the most reliable and distinguished design awards. In its 23rd year, Taiwan Excellence Award attracted 1,155 entries from 448 companies running for the award. Judged by 91 experts and evaluated with the criteria of “R&D”, “Design”, “Quality”, “Marketability” and “Made in Taiwan”, SP outperformed many other competitors and received tremendous success with ten awards, covering its three major product lines including USB flash drives, portable hard drives and external solid state drive. The impressive awarding record proves that SP’s product strategy is well-considered to not only realize comprehensive product plans but also present superb product designs.

SP USB flash drive series is renowned for diverse aesthetic looks and capability options for users to choose from. No matter it is for exterior designs, performances or storage capacities, SP USB flash drives get them all. And there are seven USB flash drives awarded the Taiwan Excellence Award 2015-T50 & J50, F80 & J80, M70, T06 & J06, T07 & J07, U06 & B06 and U30 & B30

SP portable hard drive series is welcome for rugged shockproof protection, slim exterior and chic appearance by which users can get the complete storage solution for beauty, mobility and functionality. Specially-designed for fashion- and function-conscious users, A60 and D06 portable hard drives won the Taiwan Excellence Award this year. A60 is engineered with strong construction that has passed the US military MIL-STD-810G (transit drop test) and IPX4 waterproof level, making itself the toughest data guard for outdoor users. D06 takes on a whole new twist for ordinary storage devices with classic diamond-check pattern and extremely light-weighted design which dramatically reduces the size and weight in 30%.

SP Thunder T11 external SSD was awarded for introducing the pioneering Thunderbolt™ SuperSpeed I/O technology and the trendy exterior design. Thunder T11 delivers ultra-fast rates up to read/write 340MB/280MB/sec, which is able to transfer 10GB HD video in 30 seconds and support 4K*2K video recording. Additionally, the pocket-sized design of Thunder T11 allows the true portability for professionals on the go.
