Silicon Power’s New UD90 Extends Its Compatibility to Portable Game Consoles with M.2 2230 Form Factor
Silicon Power’s New UD90 Extends Its Compatibility to Portable Game Consoles with M.2 2230 Form Factor

2023-09-07

Taipei, Taiwan – September 7th, 2023 – Following the success of the UD90 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD, Silicon Power is excited to introduce the first M.2 2230 form factor to its lineup of high-performance NVMe SSDs. The UD90 in this new and compact size, which is 62.5% smaller than the M.2 2280, has been specifically designed for the increasing popularity of portable game consoles, such as Steam Deck and ROG Ally. Its smaller dimensions enable seamless integration into these space-constrained consoles for lightning-fast speeds and ultra-high capacities without compromise. This move underscores Silicon Power’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovation and providing solutions that empower gamers to make the most of their experiences, no matter how they choose to play games.

Performance That Defies Its Size

The UD90 redefines speed and performance for on-the-go gamers. With blazing read and write speeds up to 5,000MB/s and 3,200MB/s[1], respectively, this SSD harnesses the power of its PCIe Gen4x4 interface and NVMe technology to deliver unparalleled performance in a tiny form factor. Gamers can now experience quicker load times, seamless world rendering, and smoother gameplay transitions on portable game consoles that rival the performance of traditional gaming setups. In fact, the M.2 2230 delivers better power density performance, which is approximately 12% higher than the M.2 2280.[2]

Massive Capacities to Take Anywhere

The freedoms of portable game consoles are often limited by their internal storage space. Featuring a maximum capacity of up to 2TB, the UD90 not only accommodates an extensive library of games, but also enables gamers to carry their favorite titles anywhere. Furthermore, the blend of ultra-high capacity and NVMe technology amplifies the potential of portable game consoles, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay and a superior experience regardless of location.

Recognizing the unique demands of the gaming community, Silicon Power stands out with its UD90 SSD series. The M.2 2280 for traditional gaming setups and the M.2 2230 for portable game consoles allow gamers to curate their storage according to their individual preferences and gaming requirements. As an integral aspect of its core brand values, Silicon Power is dedicated to providing customers with a range of options.
