Interview with Bikings Project
Want to bike 16,000 km in the hot Australian summer?
No?
Well, that’s okay.
The IMT just got off the phone with the gentlemen from the Bikings Project.
The Bikings Project is a 16,000 km cycling journey around Australia.
Here’s their project in their words:
“We want to open the world of cycle touring to the world. Or rather, our own experience around Australia by bike. We are a team of young amateur athletes who dedicate ourselves to photography, communication, cooking, music and sound. Our aim along the trip is to transmit in the most faithful and authentic way - the day to day of the expedition as well as generating creative content of our own as we cycle.
The message conveyed in our actions is the encouragement of young people to adopt bike touring as a way of life to discover the world.
Against sedentarism, we seek to convey a good message through the example, living consciously and connected.”
Connected? Always.
The Bikings Project teamed up with Silicon Power to make sure they were always connected to safe data storage. With thousands of hours of footage, documents, and recordings, the team reached out to us to make sure they’re always backed up.
Their story inspired us so we gave them an Armor A65M and A85M hard drive.
The team was gracious enough to chat with the IMT during their short respite in Sydney.
They’re feeling refreshed after almost 6,000 km. Now, they’re ready to get back on the road.
Only 10,000 km left to go.
